Heat Incentives & Tariffs

The support on offer for renewable energy technologies available from the government is regularly reviewed and we will endeavour to keep these pages updated on an ongoing basis.

Code For Sustainable Homes

Code for Sustainable Homes
The Code for Sustainable Homes is a relatively new set of guidelines which are now mandatory criteria for public, private and domestic sector buildings.  It aims to help the UK to meet the government’s target of zero carbon rating by 2016 for all new homes.  To find out more about the Code, what the criteria are and how you can meet them view our Code for Sustainable Homes pages.

Renewable Heat Incentives

Renewable Heat Incentives (RHI)
The government proposes to offer loans to be able to support home owners and businesses wishing to use renewable energies in the form of  Renewable Heat Incentives which will be available from 2011.  A summary of the proposal and an information PDF can be found on the Renewable Heat Incentive Pages.
Feed In Tariffs

Feed-In Tariffs (FIT)
Since April 2010 it has been possible for consumers, businesses and communities to be able to claim Feed-In Tariffs from the electricity generated by privately owned small scale renewable technologies, so not only can you create electricity for your home but you can have the extra bought from you by the government.  To find out more about Feed-In Tariffs and how they can benefit you view our Feed-In Tariff pages.
