Solar PV/Thermal | Solar PV
Solar PV systems are used to generate electricity and the energy produced can be used in your home. Any excess can be sold back to the electricity companies via feed-in tariffs (FIT).
Positioning
Location of the collectors is vitally important. They must receive the maximum amount of light possible. They should not be installed in areas where surrounding buildings or trees may cast shadows. The best location for a PV collector is on south facing roof side of building or ground mounted.
How the system works
Used for electricity generation, the photovoltaic panels rely on daylight rather than radiation to generate power. They are made up of cells which contain chemically treated silicon, as the chemicals react to the light they create an electric field producing a direct current which is then fed into an inverter to produce usable electricity for your home. The inverter converts the DC current produced by the panel into a usable AC current.
System Options
We offer a wide variety of solar PV systems including:
• On roof
• In roof
• Flat roof
• Ground Systems
These systems give you scope to fit PV panels onto most roof surfaces together with ground/open space systems should roof space be an issue.
